Since when is my Mail so Damn Delicious?! & Things to Look Forward to.

I’m one of those people who gets mega excited to get something in the mail- REAL mail.
My mailbox is usually overflowing with a lovely assortment of pizza delivery flyers, thai restaurant menus (that are nowhere near my house anyway?!) and a choccie wrapper some really thoughtful, selfless person has thought to give me as a little token of them being in the area. Thanks, kiddo.

Anyway, today was a fantastic day.
Please note that I am basing this mainly (read: entirely) around the little (actually, scratch that, quite large…) present I was sent…

Everybody meet my delicious selection of goodies that the amazing company, Chobani, were lovely enough to send to this yoghurt obsessed girl!

I swear I’m now the proud owner of pretty much every Chobani flavour that ever existed! Right up the back there I’ve got 2 big tubs of plain yoghurt, one fat free and the other low fat, and then some pretty darn good looking flavours: strawberry, blueberry, peach, pineapple, mango passionfruit… it’s like a flippin’ tropical island in my snack, no word of a lie.
All this calcium will be amazing to heal my stress fracture! Did someone say calcium overload?!Β Why, hello.

I cannot wait to get my creativity on in the kitchen, and whip up some fantastic recipes that I can incorporate some yummy Chobani into for that extra creaminess!
And hey, looks like I’ve got my snacks sorted for the next month or so? #foodprepwinning

A special mention to the incredibly cute Chobani apron and oven mitt I also received.
I’m glad Chobani realise the utter importance of fashion and accessorising appropriately in the kitchen… you’ve gotta look the part! I’m loving my new domesticated housewife look, it makes me feel much more adequate whilst cooking, and makes me less worried about burning down my apartment as well as the adjacent ones. πŸ˜›

I’ll be posting some reviews of the delish treats, as well as my experience with cooking with the yoghurt as one of the ingredients. So watch this space! πŸ˜‰

In other news, today was the Orientation Day at my uni. I’m going into my second year, but thought I’d be really cool and rock up with all the overly-enthusiastic first years with a couple of friends. We fit right in, what you talkin’ bout?!
Basically, at O-Day you get the opportunity to suss out all the clubs the uni offers, and sign up for the ones you’re loving the sound of.

Naturally, being the sport junkie and adrenaline junkie/hyperactive person I am, I got a tad excited when I saw all the sport teams that I could get involved in.
One that really stood out to me was the Balance & UTS Tri Club, which is basically a club where they offer heaps of training sessions a week for all the elements of a triathlon: running, cycling and swimming.
I know who will definitely be signing up! It’s an awesome opportunity to try my hand at some cycling and swimming as cross training, and then when I’m all better, I get to throw myself into the running side of things!
I mean, it doesn’t mean I’m going to be training to bang out some massive triathlon at any point, remember I’m still working towards a half-marathon first!
But it’ll be so fun to do all that stuff as a team, and get to meet some people who are equally as passionate about staying fit and healthy, and challenging yourself physically, as I am. Bring it on, UTS 2013! πŸ˜€

While I was thinking about things I can get really involved in this year, I thought about joining a running club- don’t worry, I’ll be either going with the Tri Club or the Running Club!
Being the painfully nerdy research fiend I am, I turned to trusty google to suss out which ones are available in Sydney, and would be suitable for me.
I found one called Sweat Sydney, and basically they have 4 training sessions a week: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, where you get together and just-Β run.Β And then talk about how much you love running. |
I honestly couldn’t think of a more dreamy way to spend my 6am mornings 4 days a week! πŸ˜‰
They also offer you the chance to get running coaching for proper form and training, as well as training from the coach, specifically for you and your goals; and he’s able to get together a really comprehensive and personalised plan for you to help you get there.
Pretty neat, huh?

So those are the random musings of my Wednesday I’ve just shamelessly subjected you to.
Hope your hump day was a good one!

Have you ever completed a triathlon?
Are you someone who’s extremely passionate about swimming or cycling, and what’s your weekly training plan like?

Anyone part of a running club?
What’s your favourite ever Chobani flavour?

    • that I can do!
the strawberry one is the best so far, out of natural, blueberry and strawberry..
      hands down πŸ™‚

will get some recipes up working with yoghurt too!

  1. Wow very cool that you joined a triathlon club! We don’t have those at my school but it would be really awesome if we did. Not that I really have any desire to do one… I hate biking haha anyways, I love getting packages too. It’s so fun!

    • it definitely made my day!
and was incredibly awkward when the mail guy was like “hi I’ve got some.. yoghurt.. for you?” and it was this massive box haha.

tweet chobani and say you might be interested in a review! that’s what I did, and bam, a week later; hello yumminess

  2. Getting mail is the best, especially when it’s tasty edibles! Enjoy all the yogurt. Try putting one in the freezer and see if you can make some froyo. My roommate made her Greek yogurt into a cookie dough dessert last night. I had a little taste and it was so good! Have a great Wednesday!

    • agreed about getting yummy goodies in the mail!
the poor mail guy had to help me carry it up to my apartment haha.
oh yum what an amazing idea!
and what’s the recipe for the cookie dough?! I think that’s a must do!

      have a great day πŸ™‚

      • Haha that’s funny. My roommate got the recipe from Pinterest. She just took a vanilla Greek yogurt and added a tablespoon of peanut butter, some sugar (maybe a teaspoon?), and chocolate chips. Definitely give it a try!

    • haha I was super surprised how much was in it! could barely carry the box, had to get the mail guy to bring it up to my apartment haha.

aw thanks Brooke, I just spent a good shameless half hour on yours too! love it!

  3. Oh how I love Chobani deliveries – they’re the best kind!

I’m not a runner or a swimmer or bike rider – I’m a walker and a yogini, haha. I walk for fun and relaxation more than “exercise” per say as I just like being fit and active.

    • I wish I could always look at exercise that way!
maybe I should take a leaf out of your book, and just do some really relaxing, low impact things like that.
my body can only thank me for it!
I do really like yoga πŸ™‚

  4. YUM those Chobanis look amazing, and the apron and mitt are so cute!! πŸ™‚

Aaah that tri club sounds so awesome!! A friend of mine who trains at my running club represents GB in the triathlon, she is amazing!! And being coached is beyond awesome. I love my coach, he is such a great guy and has taught me so much!!

    • oh that sounds so good!
I think I really need to get some proper coaching, because maybe my form is wrong or something, and I just don’t know it. it’ll be great to learn how to run once and for all!
and plus, you make all these awesome friends who love running as much as you πŸ™‚

  5. I swear, snail mail makes my world go ’round. Every time I receive ACTUAL mail (not credit card application forms, food delivery menus or coupons to get my car detailed) I feel vindicated that I’m an important enough person and all mail I receive is of the utmost importance! Last time, it was my PRO Compression socks, but I think those are important!

    • Molly I’m definitely with you there!
this was the single biggest box of yoghurt I’ve ever seen, my housemates were giving me the weirdest looks as I stocked the fridge, lol.

oh how exciting about your pro compression socks!
when I’m back running I have to get me some of those πŸ™‚
enjoy them and let me know how you like them!

      • I’d be SUPER excited about a giant box of yogurt arriving at my door! I think your roomies are jealous πŸ˜› Chobani is actually sending me a few as we speak πŸ™‚

      • hahah CONFUSED, but jealous all the same πŸ˜‰
oh yay! wow, Is it that time of the year all the bloggers are getting chobani?!
chobani is obviously feeling generous in feb πŸ™‚
